Installing Gym Assistant on All Workstations
Confirm that each new workstation can access the shared data folder
- In Windows, open Computer.
- Navigate to the shared data folder.
Note: If the shared folder
is on this computer, then open the C:\
drive and skip the remaining steps
- Click on Network.
- Find the name of the computer
on which the shared data folder was created.
- Find and open the shared data folder
on that computer.
- If you are able to open the shared data folder,
then proceed to the next step. If not, refer to Sharing
the Data Folder on the Network.
Install and configure Gym Assistant on each workstation
- Install Gym Assistant.
- When the application starts the No
Data Found window appears.
- If this is the first workstation to run
Gym Assistant then click New
and follow the steps.
- If this is not the first workstation
to run Gym Assistant (and
the data file has already been created) then click Find.
- In the Workstation
Settings window set the Workstation
ID to a Network Workstation
number not used by any other workstation.
- To the right of the Data Path field, click Browse then navigate to the shared
data folder.
- Open the Members.dat
file (which may appear just as “Members”).
Note: The path to the data file will now
appear in the Data Path field.
- Check the Map
drive letter at startup box only if the shared data path requires
that you enter a User Name and Password. This is usually
required only for “Home” editions of Windows.
- Change Network
Check Increments only if directed to do so by Gym
Assistant technical support.
- You should uncheck Always
verify member data at startup only if a slow network connection
causes problems when the program starts.
