Installing Gym Assistant on All Workstations

Confirm that each new workstation can access the shared data folder

  1. In Windows, open Computer.
  2. Navigate to the shared data folder.

Note:    If the shared folder is on this computer, then open the C:\ drive and skip the remaining steps

  1. Click on Network.
  2. Find the name of the computer on which the shared data folder was created.
  3. Find and open the shared data folder on that computer.
  4. If you are able to open the shared data folder, then proceed to the next step. If not, refer to Sharing the Data Folder on the Network.

Install and configure Gym Assistant on each workstation

  1. Install Gym Assistant.
  2. When the application starts the No Data Found window appears.

  1. In the Workstation Settings window set the Workstation ID to a Network Workstation number not used by any other workstation.
  2. To the right of the Data Path field, click Browse then navigate to the shared data folder.
  3. Open the Members.dat file (which may appear just as “Members”).

Note: The path to the data file will now appear in the Data Path field.

  1. Check the Map drive letter at startup box only if the shared data path requires that you enter a User Name and Password.  This is usually required only for “Home” editions of Windows.
  2. Change Network Check Increments only if directed to do so by Gym Assistant technical support.
  3. You should uncheck Always verify member data at startup only if a slow network connection causes problems when the program starts.
